I knew the day would be tough when I could see lightning on the drive down. Put in at C-quarters and headed across the bay. No bait on the sea buoys meant strike 2. Very small bait at O tower was strike 3. But loosing not one, not 2, but 3 cobia on O tower made the day very long.

No Aj's on the Yamaha, at least not on the pitiful bait we had. 200 short grouper and 2 23" keepers for the day. Rained on the way in, seas up to and including 4 feet, Boat on the trailer at 2.

Mama said there'd be days like this.

Now... everybody who believes TK's last .......post a reply

Tom, that same weather must have just kept track'n East. I was just West of the SM entrance when it started looking really fearce (about 12:30). Saw one sail boat haul'n buggy for the open water trying to get outside of it before it caught up. We headed in and when I got into the lighthouse canal, I looked back and the canal looked like the parkway at 5:20 pm on a weekday! Got loaded and tied down just as it started blow'n and really coming down. Your trip as bad as it seems was still a lot more productive than mine :D

Could have been RC,

I heard someone calling for you on the radio a couple of times but never heard an answer. Figured you were out there somewhere.

I kept trying to get a radio check on 14 but I think I have the same mic problem that I had a couple of months ago. I can receive fine, when I key the mic the transmit light comes on but no voice is sent. Radio shop tinkered with it and it worked fine for 3 or 4 trips.

Tom, I was out there the same day and the bite was on from about 2 to 5 although it was rough the ride in wasnt that bad because the seas was out the west. We had 14 keeper grouper with two over 10 pounds, also one 43 inch king that hit a freelined spot about 30 yards from the boat and all heck broke lose. 8)
