Good morning folks.
On my trip last week to the flats, the only thing that didn't seem to want to work like it should was my fuel gauge. When the key is turned on, the gauge goes from Empty to FULL but then never moves after that. I burned aprox 12 gal out of an 18 gal tank and it was still registering FULL when I came in. I haven't taken time to do any trouble shooting but I thought I'd put the word out to see if there was any consensus of opinion as to what the most likely problem is or what steps to take in trouble shooting the problem. Thanks
Bud

Re: Fuel Gauge Problem
If it makes you feel any better, mine hasn't worked in about 9 months. I just keep filling up every 2-3 or 4 trips, 55 gallon tank.Sir reel wrote:Good morning folks.

Stuck float, bad ground, defective sending unit

Re: Fuel Gauge Problem
Chances are you have a bad ground going to the sender, or the sender itself is bad.

Re: Fuel Gauge Problem
I got one that sticks on 3/4 tank. Float is ok, must be like you said the sender.

Re: Fuel Gauge Problem
Same as wevans. If properly grounded, replace sending unit.
