went offshore with steve s and allstarangler on saturday july 26
he has a secret spot that everyone has the numbers to except me
we took several drifts and picked up some fish
then we anchored at the spot we were catching all of the fish on the drifts and caught some more fish
most of the grouper were short - both blacks and reds
for the day - we had 3 keeper gags and a cooler full of grunt or as steve so tastefully referred to them as "ruby lipped snappers"
thanks again steve for a great day on the water
regards - wetjet

We went all the way to 75 feet out of St. Marks (40 miles) and only got
shorts. We got to a wreck that showed fish and as we dropped the first
line a pod of dolphins showed up and we didn't get a bite. Later I
caught 1 bonita, had a king take a topwater bait from me, and had a 35
pound cobia with a huge gaff scar hang around the boat for an hour. He
inhaled Reel Country's pinfish when he first got there and he jerked on
the circle hook and pulled it out of his mouth. We tried everything on
the boat to get him to eat but he just kept swimming under the boat.
When we picked up and left he followed the boat like a
damn dolphin. We hit bottom in 75, 65, 50, 42, 35, and 30 and caught
only shorts. It sucked. We had to eat a hamburger at the riverside
café.

We did try everything. Check out the MacGyver Gaff. This old boy had been around the boat a few times. Gaff scars all over the top of his back.

Nice pic. Would you consider that to be your "best side" Tom?

And you definitely won't be seeing my face gracing the cover of any magazine, that's for sure! Now, somebody purty like that Liveline fella is an entirely different story!
