Got out today in the canoe for a little tight water fishing. Put in around 2PM waiting for the tide to start coming in. Weather was great outside, 70, sunny, and a little wind out of the south. Paddled up to a creek mouth and started pitching jigs looking for fish. The tide was still pretty low but was starting to come in faster. Jon hooks up with a 15" flounder and the bite died. We worked more out of the creek onto a mud flat and continued to fish. A few moments after we get set jon hooks up with a red. Decent sized fish but the hook popped loose at the boat. A few minutes later Jon gets a hookup of a smaller red but it is still decent sized. I hook up with two reds after he does both below slot. Threw on a gold spoon after catching the last red and fished for it for about 10min and had a brutal hit not to far from the boat. Drag was real tight and the spoon snapped off. It all happened really quick . The sun was starting to set and we floated back up creek tossing spoons and topwater. Jon hooks up with a keeper trout on top and that was the day. Was a really great day. 4 reds, 1 trout, 1 flounder in about 3.5 hours. Fished shrimp, gulp, spoons, and topwaters.
