Yesterday was a good day. I had the boat in the water before daylight, and navigated to the spot I've been catching fish in the dark. Just as it started getting light I felt a slight tug on my Carolina rig. I set back and the fight was on. The first fish of the day (according to the golden rule) was 4 lb. 14 oz. In the first hour I caught another 3 lb. and 3 smaller fish. I tried a couple of other spots with no success. At 9:30 the water temperature was still 75 degrees. The sky was cloudy, and it started misting rain. I played a hunch and went to a hump that is 4.5 feet deep on top. Caught a small fish on the first cast. I had been on this spot for about 20 minutes when 2 fish crashed some shad about 60 yards from the boat, and dissappeared. I moved closer to them with the trolling motor. The fish didn't resurface, but I threw a rattletrap in there, anyway. I hooked up on the first cast. I had found a school. After catching about 20 bass, from 10" to 2 lb., most about 14 inches, they wouldn't hit the rattletrap any more. So I threw a bottom worm in there. They were still there, and I hooked up on the first cast. After an hour I had caught about 30 fish on a bottom worm. Then, just like they had turned on, they turned off. The EAST wind picked up quick, and I could see that grey wall coming down the lake. I was back on the trailer at 12:15.

Days like this don't happen often. I don't have an exact number of fish caught today. I don't have a counter. But the count was between 50 and 60. It was a blast!
What was I supposed to do today?

Cranfield, I'm pretty sure that there is NO fish that someone will not take and eat. Bass are tasty. Better than freshwater trout, IMO.

Cran, although, as Wevans and Ken stated, bass are very tasty, I released all of them to fight another day.
