1-9 Shell Point
"Glad" to read it was slow going for others as well. I rushed out of work to fish the falling tide off Long Bar.
I did catch a thick 24" trout and a couple more just shy of 20. I found three reds about 18".
The trout was a beauty.

Re: 1-9 Shell Point
We must have missed each other. I launched from the beach a little after 1, and worked the backside of the longbar to the Spring Creek Channel, then went on to the bars on the south side of Smith Island. You did better. I picked up one trout there, missed another and lost a third beside the boat on a 7M28 MirrOlure. No reds. Put a second trout in the boat on the same lure back at the Shell Point end of the longbar just after the stars started showing. Both were just shy of 20".
I also threw a spinnerbait for a while, and a Catch 2000 for a little bit, until an oysterbar took it away from me, but did nothing on either of them.

I caught it wading pretty far from my kayak and since I guessed maybe a 25" I had to measure.Reel Cowboy wrote:Nice going Lit. No pics of the trout?
I kept her in the water all the way and told myself I'd unpack the camera if she went 25.
She was tired, I wanted to get back in it. Swim away.

One day it'll be a thirty & my conscience will be very challenged.

And yeah, I am spoiled.

Charles, were you in the canoe?

Good day Lit, I didnt know you fished down around these parts. We have been doing real well over there lately but with this cold snap I think it is all about to change.

Speaking of change, it looks like we definitely have a real winter cold front camping out for the next few days. Things will get pretty interesting by this weekend
