Springfield XD 40/or 9 XDM 40/ or 9

Post by Redfin »

Any one have this handgun? good, bad or ugly reviews? Between this and a Glock 22 or 17... I've Read many online reviews (mostly positive) on shooting forums but wanted a "local" take on it...
Also, anyone ever buy from gun shop in St Marks? Reviews?

thnx all

I purchased an XDM40 from CT a few months ago and love it. Nothing against Glock but I like the feel of the Springfield better....handles well and very accurate.

Call CT (Heath) at SGA 229-377-4868. He can tell you the regs on buying a handgun.

I shot an XD in .40 cal., it looked clean and well kept but jammed up, matter of fact thats why I didn't buy it. For the money I'd go Glock all the way, you will not be disappointed. I have a Glock 17 and i've put several thousand rounds through it with never a single problem. There are very few parts to a Glock, easy to break down and clean and easy to replace if necessary. I'm a lefty with not huge hands so the fact that there is no de-cocker or external safety to monkey with is a plus too. They are very safe guns, you can drive nails with the butt (not advised) and there is no way it will fire. Only a finger squarely on the trigger pulling back will fire the gun.

Basically tho, both are good guns. It really comes down to which one feels and handles the best in your hand, and which features you like (one vs. the other).

Good luck choosing

Get the xdm it has some better safety and comfort features than the xd..I think the xdm comes with 3 grip inserts to fit small medium and big hands .. A Fl resident can not buy a hand gun in GA from a dealer or private individual it will have to be transfered to a FFL dealer in your state.

I purchased one this past Nov. from Heath. I would personally support those folks at SGO and not the registered Jack Aces like the one you are talking about. Just a hint, ( if you have any trouble down the road with your gun, I promise you that customer service over rides $10.00 anyday)
No matter what, it's a good day.

I'm lost as to what SGO is, i'm just not putting that one together. Redfin what cal. are you going with and have you shot both calibers before deciding? Either way I'm sure you'll have a great time breaking it in. Check the TRPC schedule for pistol matches, they're open to everyone (for a fee), and its a darn good time.
