If you look it over and like what you see, go to one of the local Yamaha mechanics and tell them that you want a "Purchase Check" done on it. They will charge you a couple hours of labor to go through it checking the compression, foot oil, etc. They will make you a printed list of everything they find, along with the cost to fix it. Normally, you can talk the seller into splitting the cost of the repairs with you.
It's not a guarrantee on a used motor, but it does provide some peace of mind.

Give Pete at "Pete's Outboards" a call. He and his partner are both certified Yammy mechanics. Tell them Eric Keyser sent you and MAYBE they will cut some off the price.

I made an offer. However the seller didnt want to sell it for that price as of yet. He said he would try and sell if for more, and if it doesnt go soon then he will consider my offer. If I can get it for what I offer'd it would be worth the wait. However I am on the look out for other options until then. So we shall see.
