Newby looking for Guided Trip

Post by fineline »

I am a Dog Trainer from Minnesota who spends his Winters training in Florida. I am new to this site, but have been a member to the FCKA site beginning last year. I am an avid Muskie Fisherman in freshwater but I am new to Flats fishing. I have had the opportunity to kayak fish several times last year and this year and needless to say I am HOOKED. My nephew and dad are coming to visit me April 5-11 and I am looking for a guided flats fishing trip to take them on. Any suggestions on who is available would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hello Rick,
It's always nice to welcome another fishing addict. I'm sure muskie fishing is just as addictive!

I think the trip will be at a great time of the year. I'd recommened Capt. Eric Keyser.

I've never met him, but he has consistently posted the most helpful posts on here. He's obviously a decent guy and knows what he's doing so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

I noticed a link for guides at the top of this page too. You might try searching the site for "guide" because I think I recall seeing a previous thread on this topic. Post some details of your fishing adventures here. God bless you and yours. And now it's time for me to go hit the water!

Call Flat Broke Charters and tell Captain Charlie Porretto that Lance Crawford sent ya! Bring him a bottle of Maker's Mark if you want the really good spots. :-)

I train retrievers. I do not have any experience with English bulldogs. I don't know if I can keep it from chewing a transducer cable, but I bet I can get it to retrieve. I booked a trip with Jody Campbell on April 9. I am looking forward to it. I know my dad and nephew will have a great time. Next week I will be able to get away from the dogs and rent a kayak and get out one evening and the next morning. I am keeping an eye on the weather and hopefully we will get a break from the wind.
Thanks for all the replies about the different area guides.

My Dad, nephew (Matt), and I spent the day fishing with Jody Campbell. Jody did a great job and spent extra time working with my nephew. We had a great time and caught plenty of fish. There were several times when all three of us were hooked up. Matt caught the biggest Red (26.5), biggest trout, and a 4-5 lb. Sheepshead. I think Matt is hooked for life. He is already talking about going next year.
