4/20 St. Marks

Post by FinsNGrins »

While trying to plan out my previous trip to New Orleans on an EC Caimen I was invited to fish with Fred Grey out of St. Marks in his new Lostmen(18'-1" by 72") that he brought over from Jax. I got the go ahead call while half asleep after a long weekend in NOLA in early AM and headed south consuming a breakfast of 1 mountain dew and 1 snickers bar, king sized. I arrived at the ramp with him waiting patiently and we set out after I was done admiring the fit/finish & bells/whistles of his boat. Todays forecast was a good chance of wind/chop and dirty water and you got yourself a challenge. Started out going east trying to dodge wind and rocks, worked shorelines and the usual places with DOA swim tail golden bream and my go to Gold Spoon. Caught about 10 reds, biggest was 28.5", most were 25" at 5.5lbs, we had a double too. Oh and check out the carbon fiber platforms...Sweet!

Sweet trip and sweet boat. Love all the storage and the stability of that boat.
