Spent Thursday and Friday nights with my two best fishing buddies ( Bullet and Rob ) at Shell Island Fish Camp. Left out Thursday morning in search of bait. Water was very stained and had a difficult time locating grass. After about one hour of casting and drifting, finally got about 40 pin fish. Headed to an oyster bar west of the light house to fish incoming tide. No pics from Thursday, but we wound up with 6 trout (3 over 20" with two at 22") and two 18" and one 19". Not a bad start. Went up into East river to fish the outgoing tide and got skunked.
Friday was the same with the hunt for bait. Lots of work and a small amount of bait. Returned to oyster bar to fish the incoming tide. Shortly after we arrived, the redfish arrived. I hooked up quickly with a fish that I thought would spool me. After about 5 minutes of fighting this fish I finally got it close enough to see it. I was a red about 35", a monster. Unfortunately after he saw me, he turned a broke my leader. (Earlier that morning I had noticed a nick in my leader and was too lazy to change it. That will NEVER happen again.) Shortly after that, I landed at 23" red, Rob landed a 24" red and Bullet landed a 27" red. In addition, we caught 2 trout. All of this happened in about 2 hours.

We were getting low on bait and decided to hunt more. Again little luck with bait. Waited for the tide to turn and started fishing again. Only caught two flounder in the afternoon.
Saturday, went looking for bait and loaded up quickly (go figure). Went back west of the lighthouse to fish the incoming tide. Caught several undersized reds, several stingrays and catfish. Just was not the same as the day before. Finally ended up with two keeper trout, one over twenty. Left early as we all had to get back home.
Hope the pictures post. Not a bad weekend.
