Clarification for Saturdays SJB Tournament

Post by tin can »

First I want to apologize for the subject of fishing location for this weekend ever being posted on this forum. Although this forum is the best place for members of NFGFC to get information, It is not the place to discuss NFGFC business.

That being said, for information purposes, the board of directors and myself thought it necessary for a clarification for this weekend. It is the decision of the board that the intent of location specific tournaments is for everyone to fish the tournament specific waters. Everyone participating in this weekend's St. Joe Bay tournament will be required to launch in St. Joe Bay.
What was I supposed to do today?

Except for JBT tournaments and kayakers at ramp specific tournaments.

The clubs' intent from the beginning was to introduce club members to areas outside our usual fishing grounds.
This has been a successful goal. Our members can fish competitively or casually in 175 miles of North Florida Gulf coastline.
On tournament day the clubs' intent was also to have members compete within a general area. This makes the playing field more level.
It is also part of the reason we adopted the singular location of Jerrys Bait and Tackle. That was to allow members to use their current information on fishing locations for a given day.

The NFGFC is very lenient on tournaments. Any other tournament trail requires all anglers to leave from specific locations.
Some tournaments have learned from NFGFC in the past few years to become lenient in allowing alternate ramps.
NFGFC will continue to promote ramp specific tournaments to encourage its' members to learn new areas.

I do not know if this answers your question, but learning is what NFGFC is about.
(All this is my personal opinion from what I have learned from being involved in NFGFC.)
