NFGFC Tournament June 6,2009

Post by Jumptrout51 »

Results of OUR trip out of Mashes Sands to follow as soon as I get a good 12 hours rest.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Ok, got some rest.
Butch and I fished hard from 6:30 until 2:30 and didn't catch squat.
Lots of blowups and no hookups.
Two pissy little trout to show for the effort.
One nice red good enough for 2nd place and NO money.
The bite was so slow where we fished it was an hour between ladyfish catches.

Sorry about your day, JT. I know you don't want to hear this, but here goes: The big 4 feet of falling tide that afternoon was the time to be in Ochockonee bay. I was just paddling out when I saw you at the ramp coming in. I caught several big reds from 26-30 inches and two trout over 20. Fishing is like that, though. All of May, the bite in that area was the best on incoming--go figure.

Sounds like a tough day. Still better spent on the water than elsewhere. Congrats on the 2nd place Red. Regardless of the money, that is still a respectable finish.

JT/E-Man,
Dudes. I stink up every tourney I can make it to and enjoy every minute. Wished I could have been at this one, but I'm sitting here typing in a neck brace not able to fish for the next 4 weeks. I'll trade ya. :D

I think it was 3rd place red since Ashley beat us by half an ounce but they both paid the same,Notta.
You and I have some work to do.
