sorry guy's this ones real late. been working on the house, new roof, painting, the works! anyway me and the wife headed down to keaton two sundays ago. tried fishing south birdrack 3 hours no fish(ct with candy corn). headed back toward dekle found an area where grass and @20 ft sandy bottom 7' to 9'. put candy corn on 1/4oz jig let it drag through the grass/sand. caught 18'' trout and a 15'' flounder! that's my first flounder with a reel and rod. i've gigged them before but never hooked one, man those jokers pull. anyway the wind got up and had to drive back to thomasville, clean boat, pick up little man.... so we called it a day. wife had fun and so did i. beats workin!!!
hey,
Good report, Biglee. Glad to hear somebody's catching something.
The cooler weather should really bring them in. Those flounders are a blast to catch on flats tackle. We catch most of ours draging a jig and strip of cutbait over the bottom. If he's there, he'll grab it.
See ya on the water.
