Wanted to launch the boat at 5:30 am, ended up launching closer to 6:30. It was hot, really hot. Trout were hungry early, and were happy to eat skitterwalks and soft jerk baits. The bite really slowed by 7:30. High tide was at 7:45 am today and when the tide stopped, the trout stopped. Caught the majority of our fish in 3-4'.
Decided to go chase the reds around before we called it a day and after two hours of looking and chasing we decided to go home with two decent reds (22/24). Reds were happy eating the same baits we used earlier for the trout. Dark back, gold sided skitterwalk seemed to be the ticket.
Put the boat back on the trailer at 10:30, just too hot for me to sit out there waiting for the afternoon bite to start.
