Left the lighthouse about 9:30 am hoping to fish a couple hours each side
of the high tide, clear skys and calm seas.

Went just east of the channel, drifting. Used electric jig w/0 CT and
caught a few, alot of shorts and a few more catfish. Baitfish everywhere
ran up on some macks, put one in the box.

All in all a very nice day, maybe tangled with 25 fish, most interesting the 14 inch cobia. Brought home 2 trout and a mack, family will be here this weekend will have fresh fish.

Sounds kinda like your day went like ours. We went to Steinhatchee Friday and got mostly shorts. Got 2 keepers, one was 20''. 3 black bass, biggest pinfish I ever saw. Probably weighed close to a pound. Got into a bunch of spottail pins on light tackle, good fighters on light.
Good luck next time!
