Quick trip today. Fished from 10:00 til 2:00. High tide was at 1:30, so all I was interested in doing was fishing for reds on the incoming tide.
Ended up only catching one red (25") and one big trout (24.5"). Reds were all over the place in the shallows. We probably looked at 50 fish but they just were not interested in eating topwater or anything else for that matter. They just were not hungry or something. Finally got one to eat a soft plastic pink jerk bait (5"). Trout was caught on a pink skitterwalk. Thought the trout was a red, that was the biggest trout I have ever caught on a topwater. He really hammered it in that shallow water. Both fish were caught in about a foot of water.

Thanks for the report.
Looks like bubblegum might be the hot color this weekend.
To fish, or not to fish, . . . those are the answers.

Topwater in the skinny water is the way to go for sure!
