Re: beach/ hotel recommendations/PCB
It is prime season and rooms are at top dollar over there. Vacation rental by owner, VRBO.com might have something cheaper. That's where we got are rooms from in destin at a pretty good price.Good luck, Slowroller.

Unless you just have to stay on the beach, the Bay Point Marriot is great. It's on St. Andrews Bay but still very nice. It's basically a big golf resort, but they have lots to do. They have two or three swimming pools and three or four hot tubs. They have a really nice dock that goes out on the bay with a bar at the end. They also have a free shuttle that takes you to Shell Island daily. My girlfriend and I stayed there last year 3 nights for about $300. I booked the rooms using the web for $80/night and then upgraded to the bay side room. I think I used priceline.com. You can probably contact them and negotiate. That's the best thing with any room at the beach. The published price is always more expensive.
The best thing about it, the pools were quiet and you didn't have a bunch of kids everywhere. It was an awesome stay. This year, I made the mistake of getting rooms at the Holiday Inn Sunpree. Great if you have kids, not great if you want peace and quiet. Won't make that mistake again. Good luck!
