We got set up on a nice drift in 4-5 feet (with no grass on the surface) and started throwing topwater again. Not alot going on except a few more strikes at the topwater with the fish missing. We ran a little farther west and set up again. This time, we started putting fish in the boat around 10:30 am. We also found numerous blues and ladyfish. David finally hooks up with a nice 3 lb. trout
On this drift was manage a few keeper trout, a 3ft. blacktip shark and a few nice blues. Not necessarily the fish we were looking for on tournament day, but catchin none the less beat the alternative. Highlite of the day was watching a HUGE trout come completely out of the water after my devilhorse about 10 feet off the boat! It knocked the plug silly, just didn't find a hook. Probably had 15 fish do that throughout the day.....short strike after short strike.
We headed in around 2:30 pm only to get soaked by the rain right before weigh-in. There were some nice fish weighed in and congrats to all the winners. Nice job again by Casey and Pat
