Early morn'in pond fish'in.

Post by DixieReb »

I got up early today and went over to a friend's pond to try 'em. Got a 2 lb. bass on a black worm right after I started.Tried topwater and noth'in do'in, which surprised me with all the topwater activity there. :) They quit taking the worm about an hour later so switched to bream tackle with small beetlespin. I should have gotten a bigger rod with bigger beetlespin, caught 3 bream on it and hung 3 good bass, only caught one of them .The small hook just wouldn't set good on them bigguns. But it was fun, one of the bass took a lot of drag before throwing the hook. :-? Pond fishing is just hard to beat when you can't go to the coast, and I don't have to drive 2 hrs. to be on the water. :smt004

Yeah, I just need to rig up a bigger rig for the bass. I had one in my truck and didn't think to use it.
