I got up early today and went over to a friend's pond to try 'em. Got a 2 lb. bass on a black worm right after I started.Tried topwater and noth'in do'in, which surprised me with all the topwater activity there. They quit taking the worm about an hour later so switched to bream tackle with small beetlespin. I should have gotten a bigger rod with bigger beetlespin, caught 3 bream on it and hung 3 good bass, only caught one of them .The small hook just wouldn't set good on them bigguns. But it was fun, one of the bass took a lot of drag before throwing the hook. Pond fishing is just hard to beat when you can't go to the coast, and I don't have to drive 2 hrs. to be on the water.
