Some Late Summer Vaca Yaking in West Bay!!!

Post by KyTrkyHntr »

Launched at Burnt Mill Creek yesterday morning and the plan was to try and get some fish on the fly. Well, the water was up and the wind was blowing pretty steady so I changed tactics after I launched. Stowed the fly rods below and pulled out the spinning gear.

Paddled out and started working the flat with sub-surface lures. I was drifting with the wind out and caught a nice trout in about 3-4 ft on a "Catch Jr."

Then some Rat Reds......

This guy was upset with me.....

So he gave me a nice little bath when I let him go....

Started paddling back and drifting with the wind when I got slammed by this guy ... a good red and a Kayak sleigh ride!!!

Thats as good a place as any. Stop by Sunjammers and he'll fill you in on the places to fish. Ask for the owner Brad.
