9lb On Chug Bug

Post by Flanders »

Fished on a small pong this after noon with my brother in law. Caught a few small fish here and there then tried throwing a top water chug bug. Caught a 2 lb first then a 9lb hog hit.. Drug the boat nearly clear across the pond before landing it.

Very nice fish, Flanders. I am always amazed how much a big bass can pull, you just about can't bring them in!

I don't know if its just me, but i feel like the bigger they get, the lesser the fight. I feel like they try to just go in deep water instead of shaking the lure off with every bit of strength they have in them like the little ones do. I went fishing in my grandma's backyard in S Fla and caught some peacock bass. Those guys fight like heck! I also caught a 10lb largemouth in the same pond :D Makes me wish they had wet retention ponds stocked with bass up here.
