Party Boats

Post by Reel Addiction »

Since I no longer have access to an off shore boat, I am thinking about taking a party boat for some off shore fishing. I have a few questions for the many bright fishing minds of this forum:

1) Is there a party boat that docks in Carrabelle?
2) If not, would you go out of PC or travel to Destin?
3) Is this a good time of year to go?
4) Anyone have some good experiences with certain boats?
5) All useful tips welcomed!!!!

I would like to take an all day venture! Thank you in advance for your advice!!!

The two best partyboat I know are out of Mayport (Jacksonville): the Majesty and Mayport Princess. I think Jax is not that much further drive than Panama City or Destin if you live in Talahassee. You will catch fish but need to have a different mindset than fishing on your own boat. To me its just as much fun plus I feel more secure on a 70' boat if the wind/wave kicks up suddenly than being on a 20' boat, especially if I have Calvin along with me. Do a search on some of my old posts will give you an idea what kind of fish I catch on partyboats. BTW, between now until December is a good time to fish for grouper and snapper (yes, its open in the Atlantic side). Unfortunately, beeliners is now closed. I'll be happy to help if you have any questions.
