HELP !!!!!

Post by lizbeth »

Guys I have a big problem, and I'm hoping that some of you may have some knowledge to the question I'm going to ask:
Last night I put $30.00 of gas, yes I said gas in my diesel truck. I drove it home about 3 miles, then I drove it about 5 miles this morning on the way to work before I realized what I had done, so I left it parked when I realized it. and got a ride to work. I have been told that I either have to pull the Tank or siphon the gas out. Here's my question, is there a special pump to get the gas out ? Any information would be appreciated. :hammer:

How much fuel was in the tank before you put the gas in? How much will the tank hold?

$300.00 worth of gas is what 8-9 gallons? If the tank was realatively full to start with, which I doubt, then you might be alright just to run it on out. It'll smoke like hell but that's about it. If the tank was close to empty, which I suspect, then drop it like its hot and drain it.
I have never done this buthave always been told this is what to do.

Don't feel bad, I did the same thing a few years ago, costly mistake, I beat you will look at those green pumps several times before you pull the fuel trigger again. I sure do.

Don't run it with ANY gas in it. A new diesel engine is 5-6K. Drain the tank and purge all the fuel lines and install a new filter. You can get a decent pump from harbor freight. Just a hand pump will do. Make sure you have something to hold 20+ gallons of fuel.
