I bought this reel several years ago. I have always been a fan of the 4000 series reels and bought this 2500 because I thought the size would be cool for fishing ponds. I never really quit using my old 4000FG reels so this one sat around without being used. A few weeks ago I decided to dust it off and try it out again. First, I though it would be a good idea to clean and oil it as I do with all my reels. Well..........I took the bail off to oil the roller bearing on the bail. Then curiosity got the best of me and I wanted to see what the last screw held on. This is where the problem started. When it came off, a spring and rod came off with it. The pieces just came out on the table but, I have no idea how to put it back on. It was only a couple of pieces but those Japaneese engineers are smarter than me. I put it all in a Ziplock bag and decided I would take it to Big Al's Reel Repair in Albany and that never happened. I will never use it so I decided I would sell it cheap to someone who knows how to repair it or wants it for parts. I am asking $50.00. I have the box, manuals and everything like it was new. Reel is in very good shape too, the pesky bail just isn't attached, HA!
