Fishing & NOAA sucks

Post by Chalk »

Was wondering if any mariner ever got in trouble by basing their actions on the marine forecast?

Meet up with Barhopr....poled Barhopr around...saw a dead redfish from the cold..saw a school of large trout...saw a bunch of redfish, mullet and trout sitting on the bottom - then running from the boat...said good bye to Barhopr.

The End

NOAA predicted NW wind around 10 knots - then diminishing to 5 in the afternoon. The NW wind diminished and turned into a very stiff SW wind :smt011

The whole trip was based off of the forecast - should have known better

Beat working - HPX ran great and Barhopr didn't hook me and brought cookies :-D

Yep , You should have known better . Study up on Pressure Gradients. After all NOAA is only a prediction tool. Just like the tides tables.
Man thats scary to see dead fish from the cold weather.
Wednesday will be the day to go out.
BE GOOD AND FISH OFTEN

NOAA isn't bad for the daily forecast; in that they'll get it right over the majority of the day. For an hour-by-hour forecast I like this site:
