raw oysters near Wildwood Inn

Post by RHTFISH »

Got some friends coming from CO and they will be staying at Wildwood Inn. They want raw oysters and more raw oysters. Since the place on bay at Panacea closed
anybody got a good suggestion? Is liquor still be being served at Wildwood....I know there was a problem with license, etc. Thanks much!

And the rest of the food there is great- And they have

Or tell them to go to Mineral Springs and buy a bag full and an oyster knife!

I would get in my car and head east to Perry. Zodie is now running Roy Deal's Famous Oyster house on 98 just west of Perry. I ate there last Friday night. It is the 3rd time I've eaten there since Zodie took over. For those who don't know, Roy raised Zodie, but she left for a while. The restaurant suffered while she was gone. There were folks waiting in line Friday.

The oysters were $4.95 a dozen and they were large and EXCELLENT. The fried seafood I had was EXCELLENT as well. I ate at the Indian Pass Raw Bar on Saturday and those oysters were $8.95 a dozen and they sucked! The last time I had oysters at DeAngelo's, they were okay, but very small.
Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood!

I agree with B-Man, head over to Posey's and get some oysters and cold beer. (and maybe a fried flounder) If your friends decide to go to Mineral Springs, call Ike down there first and ask him if the oysters are fresh (as in not salty due to too much rain) or not, he will shoot you straight. Wildwood is still serving liquor

Thanks guys! I agree RE: Deals's! We've been there several times over the last couple months and the oysters are GREAT as is the other food. We've stood in line more than once.
Zodie is extremely gracious and can still play the heck out of her pogo stick! "Finest people in the world walk through those doors."
