I fished the beach early to sightfish some pomps and struck out. I did get 1 fish to bite a jig but didn't hook up. Not many fish were seen, and there weren't even trash fish all over the beach yet. The haze and clouds were also very thick. After that, I set up in the bay to try and get some giant jacks on fly. No hookups but did get some 25lbers to chase a topwater foam fly. Later I went to the head of the bay to get the skunk off. The tide started moving out and I found a few large fish, lost an overslot that bent my hooks straight on topwater, then switched to fly rod. Found a few tailers on the low tide, but I wasn't stealthy enough. Trout bite at sunset during the low was insane. Blow ups on almost every cast for about an hour straight. Most of the fish were small keepers but hooked up with some over 20.
