Private Lake 5-22-2010

Post by jadams92002 »

I must start off by saying that I am sorry if this report is not detailed enough some of you, but I will post pictures. Ok I woke up at 5:00am the wife made me pancakes. :lick: Met a friend at a local bait and tackle shop at 6:00am, here in Bainbridge where we took off to the farm pond in North Florida. No, I won’t say where it is, just that it is not the same pond that I fished last week. We got the boat in the water at 6:45am, got every thing rigged and started fishing. After the forth cast my buddy caught a small bass on a tequila sunrise worm. Me on the other hand held fast with the fly rod. Within the next few casts my buddy had 3 more fish in the boat. I am still casting away at the fly rod. After my buddy’s 6 fish in the boat to my goose egg I had to make the switch. While I was rapping up the fly rod he lost a nice fish. I rigged up a worm, but I couldn’t go with the same flavor that he had so I broke out the red shad. First cast with it I landed a little 2 pounder. We pretty much kept catching a fish every other cast or so until about 9:30am and then pretty much everything stopped. I caught one more on a spinner bait, excuse me, a gold and chartreuse Booyah spinner bait 3/4oz. We went to deeper water, 13 to 16ft, hoping to find some fish. I did catch a nice Crappie on a rattle trap. Just as we were about to leave I hung into a monster, but I didn’t loosen up my drag from a earlier mishap so I lost her right at the boat. :smt010 Mostly we caught 2 and 3 pounders we did land a few that went 5 and 6. All in all it was a good day.

PS: Tides N/A, Caught most in 2 to 3 foot of water, Time: 6:45am to 10:00am, Water Temp??.?, Beer Drank Total: 8, Water Clarity: Stained, Sunny, Wind 3mph, exe.

From the pictures that's one heck of a private lake! Good report, just not enough details. Like what did your wife serve with the pancakes. Syrup or Jelly? How many did you have in the stack? Did you have coffee or milk? I wish you folks would be a little more detailed in your reports.

:smt005 I will try to do better next time on the details. Just a little 150+/- acre irrigation pond.

You're leaving out way toooooo many details......were the pancakes from a mix or homemade? :smt005

Where I'm from 150 acres is a lake....not a pond!

It seams as though the pancakes are more of an interest than the fish so I will go into more detail. They were the quick mix kind in a yellow container. I only had two they were about 10 inches in diameter cooked to golden perfection on each side. They were served with tupelo honey that you can buy on the corner close to the St Marks lighthouse road. I had one glass of 2% milk that will expire on Tuesday.

Thanks for the delightful questions that make me want to keep reading and posting here at BBF.net
