Wading and Grouper fishing St. Marks 5/1/2010 - 5/19/2010

Post by Jhults11 »

I went with jeremy wade fishing last week at the lighthouse and we ended up catching a nice 24" trout with 2 20"ers to boot.
Later in the week we went offshore with my dad and fished spotty bottom in 32-50 ft and only ended the day with a just legal Red grouper and a 27" gag. Dont know why it was so slow but it was.
Last Thursday I headed out with my boss (andy) in his new maycraft....awesome boat... and hit some of his grouper spots. We ended the day with a 22.5" gag and a 28" gag. I also caught my first keeper cobe at 35" and lost another toad that was about 30lbs. It has been a great month other than the fact that we got screwed out of fishing the rt shootout rescheduled date because my team was unavailable to fish that day and one of them had the boat..oh well. The oil spill has not been so great either. I work for fwc and had to go get HASMAT trained in panama city last tuesday. Man oh man...the stuff we may see if it comes this way....it literally unfreakinimaginable!!! :smt010

Good report. Lots of nice fish sticks in those trips. :lick: Sounds like you've been busy catching a mixed bag of nice fish. Havn't caught a cobia this year. Can't wait. Thanks for the report.
