monster reds up shallow

Post by skitterwalk »

we put in at a boat ramp at 9:30 and head out to the hot still flats intending on catchin some nice trout for dinner but was rudely interrupted by a school of about 75-100 30+ red fish and i didnt want to move or they would spook cuz they were right off the bow but managed a cast in there and the results were HUGE!!

Image

and 10 minutes later and 100 yards of line striping we landed this beast and benging the net in the process

me letin the beast go :D

the fish weighed about 35 pounds and measuring 40 inches even! and he was on my ultra light trout rod so u can immagine the first run and he just about spooled me!!
after breaking off the next one in the school there were no where to be found

but did catch some trout around 18 19 inches all on gulp
