New to the board
My wife and I recently started fishing in this area and we have picked up lots of good info from this forum, so I thought I'd come out from the shadows and introduce myself.
We recently joined the Freedom Boat Club in Carrabelle which we are very excited about. If you don't know what the FBC is, its a club where you pay monthly dues for privedlges to take out 5 different boats whenever you like. This kind of deal was a great way for us to get started and so far we love it.
We have lots of fishing experience on offshore charter boats while we lived in the Keys but have never fished on our own. Those charter guides must really know their stuff because we are having no luck neashore yet targeting reds and trout. We have only been fishng around Lanark and DI so far but we are going to give Sykes cut and SGI a try this weekend. We are wanting to get a bit more comfortable before going deep but can't wait to bag some groupers!!
I'm sure I'll have some questions as we go so thanks again for sharing your local tips and tricks!

One tip all newbies need to know. Stay out of JT51's fishing holes....

Welcome Aboard!
It may be that my sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Watch out for the one who brings a spoon to a knife fight..he is either really stupid or really good with a spoon. <')))><

Welcome aboard. The guys at FBC are great. Hopefully you'll be able to use your membership this year. At least you won't have to clean the oil off the hull.

Welcome BudMan.
You guys should come to a NFGFC tournament one month and get a feel for some folks that will help you on your inshore fishing.
Several of our members also do offshore and would be happy to give you some pointers.
Otherwise,as previously mentioned....stay off my fishing holes.

Welcome aboard. JT really does not mind if you fish his holes. He is just one of those grumpy old men.

Re: New to the board
Welcome aboard. If you have a handheld gps and about $50 to spend at the tackle store, we can help you out with the trout and reds. There's really only about a half-dozen or so lures you need to fish the flats. The rest is just spending time on the water and watching the tides. Stop in at a NFGFC meeting and hunt me down or give me a call when you get time (850) 509-3116. Tomorrow is the Hands Helping Anglers event, so I won't be available until Sunday.
Good luck with your new fishing adventures.

Oh yeah! Anybody with the name Bud Man is gonna fit right in with this crowd.
Welcome aboard. Maybe we can get Buddy Wiser to sponsor NFGFC.

To fish, or not to fish, . . . those are the answers.
