Lake Talquin Bream 7/11/10 - Mayflies

Post by DwayneFisherman »

Arrived at Williams landing about 4:00 pm and fished the shoreline for about 2 hours with worms, crickets, and beetlespins. Saw lots of mayflies. Did nothing on the beetlespins, but they were hitting the worms and crickets. We caught 14 total, mostly bluegill and 2 shellcracker; however, most were peedappers and we gave them away when we left. We could easily have caught 50 in certain spots, but they were so tiny and it was so rough out there in a gheenoe we packed it in early. That lake is beautiful. Really enjoyed it.
