RIPPED HALF OF MY SKEG OFF !

I have the bottom of skeg that broke off. Who, Where and how much.........
Who do I go to to get a new skeg welded on and how much should I expect to pay. I have taken the boat out a couple times since this happened. No damage to lower unit.

Porter Marine, while it is there have him put on a skeg guard. It is cheap insurance!

Welcome to the club. If you only did HALF a skeg, you're still a rookie but we will let you in. I second the vote for Waivel Porter. He can either put it back the way it was, or add one of his stainless skeg guards. They are well worth the money.

My vote is for Porter also. Get the skeg repaired and have Waivel build you one of his rock guards all for around $200. It'll be the last time you spend money on the your skeg. Porter's rock guards are custom fit to your motor and will NOT interfere with performance. I personally wouldn't own a boat in our area without one.

Not entirely true.
We have a Porter guard on the SeaArk.
Just paid Waviel $85 to repair the skeg. It cracked inside the guard.
There was less water on the bar than anticipated.

It did keep matters from being worse.
