A little football smack talk

Post by bman »

I keep reflecting on yesterdays opening game.
I know it was Samford and I know next week is the first real test but its hard not to be excited about FSU Football. :D
Its a long time since we have seen the Noles look that sharp. Even though we played a 2nd tear opponent they were ready- played Smart and with Discipline. No Punts from FSU, Great kicking, only four penalties, Blocked Punt, Punt returned for a TD. Backup QB Played the 2nd half and we still scored the most points in a game since 2005

I'm watching a replay of UF vs Miami of OHIO... the first half is almost over an I keep thinking

At the least Its going to be an interesting year

Preach on brother BM, preach on. I slipped away from Mobile and made it to the game. We were able to leave early in the 3rd quarter so I could head back. My wife and I were saying that this was the first time in years that we could feel comfortable leaving a game early if we needed to, without having to worry if we would pick up the win in the end.

They say CP7 for the Heisman, but GR5 may be a worthy candidate come the end of the year.

I am worried about how Samford could move the ball up the middle (granted it wasn't too much and some of our 2nd, 3rd team members were in). OU has a stud at RB, let's hope our Stoops is better than their Stoops on this issue.

Good start to what is already being called the "Jimbo Fisher era". What a great time to be a freshman at FSU like my son Brett. Seems like FSU home games are going to cut into my fishing time with him, but I'm willing to give up NASCAR on Sunday afternoons to make up for it. :smt004
To fish, or not to fish, . . . those are the answers.

Hey PA, that's my alma mater. Samford is in Birmingham, AL. Bobby and Terry Bowden coached there. It's a private Baptist University. This is an excerpt from one of my brother's emails. He works at the University. Think you might like it:

We had a FreshMin Retreat this weekend. We had 400 students and the camp set up a satellite dish so we could watch the FSU game. The first couple of minutes everyone was going nuts. It was awesome. We intercepted a pass on our own 10yrd line and kept them from scoring. The place was going nuts. Then Matt and I step out and came back in with the score 14 to 0. It was downhill from there. At some point the goal shifted from winning, to scoring and then whether or not we could get a first down. If we did, celebration broke out as if we had scored. In all, still lots of fun, but it wasn't long until the lake was full of people swimming rather than watching the game.

Go Noles! :)
