Spring Warrior
It has been a little while since I put my flats boat in at Spring Warrior. How hard would it be to get out idling without dinging the prop too badly on a -.5 low? It doenst look like the wind will have too much water pushed out. I usually put in at Fenholloway and there arent too many times I can get out there.

Personally, I wouldn't even attempt it, especially if it's been a while since you put in there. You might as well add an extra 10 minutes to your trip and go all the way to Keaton. On the water, Keaton is 8-9 miles from Spring Warrior, and there is some pretty exceptional fishing in-between the two (mostly north of Yates Creek).

Re: Spring Warrior
I dont like putting in at keaton as I mostly like to trout fish around hickory mound. If I put in at SW or Finholloway I can make the boat ride shorter and save on gas. Cheaper to ride in the truck than the boat. I wanted to try redfish around SW and prolly trout around HM. Trout seemed to be a little thicker there over the weekend.I have ran from Ecky to Steinhatchee before just for $@&@ and giggles if you know what I mean but like to keep the engine time down. Just wanted to see how the reds were acting around SW, I dont fish it too much but there seem to be alot more bars outside the grass than the Fen to Econ area. I guess I will just go with old faithful and put in a Fin. Prolly will take a while to get out the mouth at low tide tomorrow however.

no doubt Kirt. It was a -.2 when I busted the Xpress last year. Go slow and good luck

Re: Spring Warrior
A negative on that, + .6 or we don't get out in flat boats like a Carolina Skiff, one of the owners was bumping in an air boat trying to get out the other day.
My best guess tomorrow would be about 1:30 or 2:00 before you can get out either about that time before that might happen, but if it is 6 inches below the top of table rock you ain't getting out the Warrior. Every report I have gotten has been better than the one before an 8 lb trout was caught near Steinhatchee. Many 5, 6+ lb Trout and Reds have been caught all the way past Horse Shoe. Topwater fluke or straight jigs don't overthink it if your not getting bit move they are not everywhere. Try to find some color to the water to clear no good. I would bet the Hickory Mound would be off the chain but you don't have to go that far. It was to clear for my tastes last Thursday but we found them hungry when the tide was moving.
