Trolling St. Marks 12/4
A buddy and I tried our luck at trolling for the first time this weekend. We had no luck on the grouper but we did manage this one big red. Made the trips worth every minute.

Nothing makes a fish bigger than almost being caught.

Dawg. That's a monster.
We want details!
To fish, or not to fish, . . . those are the answers.

Not a lot of details to give. Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good. We were trolling for grouper in less than 20 feet. It was the first time trolling as we both fish inshore only. We had some advice from some friends on what plugs to use, how deep and how fast. Found some rocky bottom and a bunch of bait fish. Caught a couple of lizard fish but never got a grouper so we are still missing something. But we did get lucky on the big red. Thought it was a shark at first. Everytime we got it close to the boat it would just make a run back down. Finally got a good look and then had to get serious about getting her in for a couple of pics and then back in the water. Gotta love fishing, you never know what you'll catch sometimes. To top it off we both had our twelve year old sons to share it with.
