Launched late. Around 11:00am or so. Started landing good size trout right away. Within a hour or 2 we had about 6 or 7 keepers in the box and had several misses and quite a few get off right at the boat. Dead tide sets in and the bites stop. Did some hard fishing for about an hour and 1/2 with some hits and some shorts. Rain starts falling light for a few and we finally bag our last 3 keepers
Now its play time.. We break out the long rods and start blind casting towards the banks. Both of us land a couple specs on clouser fly but not a red in sight. All and all not a bad day and certainly no better way in my book to kick off the new year. Great times with the old man once again.

IT IS HARD TO KEEP UP WITH WHAT IS LEGAL AND WHEN YA CAN OR CAN NOT FISH, THEY NEED TO BAN ALL COMMERCIAL AND LET THE REST OF US CATCH WHAT WE NEED TO EAT.
