Aucilla River
Aucilla River + dummy behind the wheel + rock = sheered off skeg + bent prop blade. I have run that little section a ton of times and was one bend from where I thought I was and hit the shallow spot I thought I was already past. Dee dee dee.
Back to the shop I go.
Oh yeah the TM died too. Still undiagnosed, pray for an easy fix, I could use it.
The Aucilla does not like me. All my mishaps are in that river and I am usually Mr Careful. I see folks running wide open where I idle and know there are rocks (cause I have hit them. Does someone on here move them rocks around?

They move by themselves, at night.

What did you catch, besides the bad luck ?
Re: Aucilla River
An old gentleman who showed me the Aucilla many moons ago biggest comment was, "there are rocks in this river as big as cars and if you hit one, you will feel like the car hit you!".
Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood!

I have been told that meteors fall during the night and this is how the rocks show up in new places. Beware!

Re: Aucilla River
We caught a slot red and a pup. Had a newbie with me who caught his first saltwater fish ever! Two keeper trout. Couple more short trout. Once the TM died, it was game over.
Also, if a big red is called a bull, why is a rat not called a calf?

Re: Aucilla River
Turns out the river really kicked my butt. bent shaft, small split on nose cone (don't know how I did not see that - maybe I was still in shock). Boat man says I need a new lower unit. Adjuster on the way. Out of commission for 3 weeks!

I don't think Porters can get it to Bob's for a low water pick up and back in 4 days. That is the big delay. I have heard great about them though.

Don't know how big the crack is but JT's right I've seen it done. "Cuz" can weld anything
Re: Aucilla River
Yikes, one more example of why I don't need to give that river a try.
