1988 Grady White 228G Refurbed 2004

Post by mullet »

I purchased this boat in 2003. From 2003 to 2005 I restored her mechanically. Short of the hull she's and '04.
She's powered by an '04 ETEC. I took her in for a service just before the warranty ran out. I had been having no problems with the boat but the tech said one cylinder had lower than normal compression. Evinrude sent a fully dressed powerhead under warranty. It has well under 100 hours.
Other upgrades:
2000 Rolls axle all aluminum tandem trailer w/2 speed winch
New fuel tanks (95 and 35)

ALL new wiring
3 new fuse panels. The main moved to the cabin, on at the helm, one in the overhead elec. box
Image
New pumps, separate raw and bait pump, fresh water pump added with 20 gallon tank, new bilge pumps
Image
Three batteries, One cranking, one pump/lighting, one independent electronics battery in the cabin
All teak was removed, sanded, refinished and reinstalled

Garmin 2010C with sounder and Radar

Furuno 582L with 1000w shoot through
Image
Red LED rope lighting for night fishing
Image
New rub rail all the way around
All through hulls and fuel fittings replaced with chromed bronze
Image
All new plumbing hoses
12 volt under gunnel plugs on both sides at rear
new bolster pads
New Eisenglass full enclosure

There are so many more extras and upgrades I can't post them all. She is an awesome boat. Fact is my boys are grown up and all my buddies have young ones. I used her twice last year.

There are a lot of pics here that carry through the whole retrofit

I'm asking 15k but am open to offers. I would consider a trade for a smaller bay/flats type boat.
Let me know it you have any questions.

Didn't know where to start, looked at comparables on boattrader and 24 seemed a good place. As I said I'm open to reasonable offers or trades.

Only took a week for me to face the reality that I cant charge for the sweat I put into this boat. I think she is more priced to sell now.
