Wondering what is your favorite saltwater treble hook to replace factory hooks on inshore topwater or suspending lures? :smt017
I like VMC® 4X O’Shaughnessy Treble Hooks in red, but I'm thinking maybe I haven't given Owner Power Point 4X a fair shake, Eagle Claw Laser Trebs, or even VMC SureSet. Maybe I'll move from 4X to lite wire.

I'd be interested to hear your opinion on saltwater hook selection. :smt045

I just grind down and sharpen the original hooks and keep using them.

I like the freshwater Gamakatsu 4x in the black color. Never seem to have as much luck with red hooks.

JT has a lot of idle time while on the water.

I have good luck with the Eagle Claw #4's. I specifically don't like the red hooks. One winter I replaced all my rusty hooks with the red ones and they didn't hold up well. Once the red comes off and you see the gold underneath, I don't believe the lures are as productive.

After reading the replies, I think I'll remove all my red hooks. :-?

You may as well Juan.
You will still catch the same amount of fish with no hooks.
