WARMING UP TO THE IDEA..... UNTIL
Went to another local sight looking some post this afternoon and learned a few things: I'm a "PROP" and I don't fit in with that crowd

That's still better than what the sail boats are called: Rag Baggers and Blowboaters.
Tupperware is downright funny, though. No offense yakkers, but it is.

Thin skin I guess Jason, anyways I'm going to shop the places aroung here for ones to see what I like, they just look so dang simple to fish in for my 2-3 hour trips at the house. Yes growing up in Woodville with the large famliy that I have you took a lot of kidding.

Get with Wilderness Way and rent a few or hook up with Jason and Liam and let them show you how they rig their yaks.
The two of them, along with Capt Crunch, got me into yak fishing a year ago. It's a lot of fun, cheaper than boating and you can still catch a ton of fish.
Mike at St. Marks Outfitters can also answer any questions you might have.
Always trying to support the locals and the keep the money here.

I live right down the road from you. If you want to test drive a fishing kayak, shoot me a PM. I have several and would be more than happy to put you in one. Then, if you like it (and you will) you can rent or buy one from any of the fine shops around here. I fish power and/or paddle almost every day. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

and depending on your fishing needs the outback, and pro angler come in second and third.
Note: Proangler is REALLY heavy

Almost everyone on the FCKA board use to fish from a stinkpot! Mine's been in the garage for 2 years.
Re: WARMING UP TO THE IDEA..... UNTIL
If you want to peddle you only have 2 brand choices: Hobie(Revolution, Outback, Pro-Angler), and the Native Watercraft Propel.Gulf Coast wrote:OK What are the top 3 kayaks, I'll start there ! Peddle drive only
Wait for a Demo day at Wilderness Way and you can probably try all three of the Hobie kayaks. I'm not sure where you could try out the Native. You basically will trade speed for stability. I love my revolution, but I saw a guy catch the largest trout at last week's tournament because he had a yak(pro-angler) he trusted going offshore in 20+ mph winds.
Best of luck.

We have a native propel at TNT on the lower bridge and it has broken every time we have taken it out...they are looking into fixing it tho. But wouldnt recoment it. Go Hobie
