Lanark 4-27-28-29-2011
We fished 3 boats for 3 days and had limited success. The weather had our ears pinned back a couple of days so we fished inside Bird Island. We caught a few trout. We had around 8-10 keepers per boat each day. We also had a good many shorts. The keepers were nice with several fish over 20". One day we had 3 reds with one keeper. (Sorry no pictures someone else had the cameras). We tried to get to Dog Island Reef but it was pretty rough. We caught a few Spanish and Blues but that was about it. On Friday we ran to Turkey Point. We fished inside the shoals and did pretty well. Our boat caught 5 keepers with one going 20". New Penny Gulp and Bass Assassin 'Chicken bone' soft plastics were the order of the day all week. We had success under Cajun Thunder corks and jigging with no cork as well. Thanks for all the info last week and thanks for sharing your wonderful fishing with the land locked boys from Georgia we had a great time. Two thumbs up to Sandy Beach proprieties for a great stay as well.

Thanks for inviting me on the trip, little bro. It was a blast with a great group of guys and 2 first-time 10 year olds that did great on their maiden voyage to the big muddy. Looking forward to our next trip soon. I was definitely a little disappointed with the Spaniard action at the reef as it has always produced a ton of fish the past several April trips. Reef Donkey.

The cooler water moved in from the storm and the spanish moved offshore more. They should be back shortly.
