Port St Joe 5/6-5/8

Post by Scott7138 »

Good weekend on the bay. Missed our annual Easter trip with my buddy so we did it this weekend. Fished a couple of hours late Friday on the northeast side of Blacks and managed 2 keeper trout and 2 flounder. My buddy managed a 23.5" this afternoon. Sat. am decided to put in at the State park and head around the point to hopefully boat a Pompano with no luck. Ladyfish were everywhere. He is a little sensitive in the stomach area so we could not get as close to shore as I wanted. Pulled out, grabbed some lunch and some extra tackle and was back on the water about 2:30. We managed about 5 or 6 keepers to go along with the host of shorts. The wind really died down on Sat. afternoon and made drifting a challenge. Sunday morning we were back at Presnells and picked up a keeper red north of Presnells on topwater and one keeper trout. Decided to head around Blacks and picked up a couple of more there. Then we went to the head of the bay and noticed alot of activity on top late morning??? So we tied on some topwater and it did not let us down. Fished out a little bit further north and got into the reds. Ended up boating a nice 24" and a couple of nice trout to wrap up the day. Off the water by lunch. Brought home 16 trout with the largest being 23.5", 2 flounder and 2 reds with the largest being 24". Working onthe pics.
