Where to find clams???

Post by Chewbacca »

I have some friends coming in town and I am looking to add a little variety to our trips..... meaning if we get skunked we can at least have something to cook out. When I visit my friends in New Smyrna they take us clamming in the estuaries. Can anyone recommend areas in the Big Bend where we can find wild clams. I usually go out of St. Marks. I know that there are clam farms around so the climate must be right but I haven't found a good spot yet and we really enjoy clamming.

Thank you guys for any help.

The only clams I know of are on the clam farm leases. However, there are a lot of Scollops out there right now
