Swim ladder on flats boat

Had a windline center supprt ladder bracket welded to my poling platform support. Welded on the side so you can use the ladder rungs as you climb. Works real slick and is out of the way location for the bracket. If you have a stout platform, you may consider it.

Swim ladder on a flats boat? Is nothing sacred? The next thing you will see is a poling platform on a pontoon boat.

I've not seen one on a 'toon yet but I have seen polling platforms on boats that had Ttops and on boats that you could never actually poll. I must admit my first "flats boat" was a 19' CS that I put a platform on. Almost turned me off of flats fishing all together it was such a pig. Glad I saw the "light".

I have a Garelick removable ladder for my flats boat. It's stainless steel tubing with folding nylon steps that locks into a small puck mounted on the transom. The ladder stows easily in my forward bow compartment when not in use (which is rare). I wanted it in case a client ever fell overboard. Even with the lower freeboard I'd have trouble getting a large or overweight person back on board easily. And those who have seen my Bayshore have never complained that the mounting puck detracts from its looks.

From a safety standpoint it makes sense. Some things just strike me at times and my view gets very narrow. I am glad there are those who will call me on my stuff so that I can adjust my thought processes. That being said, we still need better and more effective leadership in Washington!

Chalk fell out of my boat one time when the water temp was in the upper 50's maybe lower 60's. He had no problem hopping up into my boat. Matter of fact, I don't think his shocks got fully soaked before he jumped back in....that boy is quick.

I debated about the ladder for a long time before adding it. Same with my Power Pole. Hate to blur the lines on the Bayshore, but when I did, I used the Ross Perot rule--measure twice and cut (or drill) once.

As for Washington, ANY leadership would be a nice change of pace.

Sorry, missed this. been out of town plus computer issues. It is a windline and it comes with the bracket. I got the 4 step for the wife, the 3 step would work fine and would be easier to stow. The 4 is nice and I got in the boat multiple times with fins on.

My boat guy welded this on for me, just fashioned it out of channel. It held my nephew and he is a whopper, 350 if he is an ounce. Nice because the ladder rungs serve as handle as you go up.
