Keaton Tide?

Wanting to leave Tville about 9 am tomorrow and either gonna go to Lanark or Keaton..you guys help me decide,I have never fished outta Keaton and have been wanting to.Gonna be a 2 hr ride to either,is tide going to affect me at Keaton and where in the heck do i even begin once i get out of the channel??,wanting to put the girlfriend on a few fish,only her 2nd trip ever.Thanks guys,need some help on this matter,ready to pull out now if i could!

Looks like tomorrow will be a perfect November day for fishing out of Keaton except for the full moon. Low tide at 7.30 am. You will not have a problem getting out of the canal or channel. If I was going I would head north to Dekle (about 6 miles) and start fishing in 2-4' of water, live bait preferrably. If nothing doing there I would run another 4-5 miles north and fish same depth, just north of Spring Warrior. Best bite should be between 11.30 and 3.30.

I haven't been to Lanark lately, but I can tell you that most of the teams in the NFGFC tournament last Saturday fished between Spring Warrior (North of Keaton) and the Aucilla River. If it were me, I would run North from Keaton beyond Spring Warrior Creek, then fish the rocky points and oyster bars that stick out furthest from the shoreline. The fish didn't seem to hit until after 10:00 am when it warmed up, but the mornings were a lot colder last weekend than they are now.

The Keaton channel from the Marina to the mouth can get pretty dry on a real low tide, so I wouldn't plan on launching at dead low tomorrow.

My team placed 5th in the tournament, so if #1 - #4 chime in here with some advice, feel free to ignore everything I've said!

Also, at the mouth of the canal, the channel runs in between the pier and the marker bouys not to the outside of the bouys. Stay close to the pier.

I also head west toward Dekle. I find the fishing to be best in that area as the Tide is going out while fishing with Gulp under cajun thunders.
