East Flats

Post by CaptReelThyme »

Tried to fish the oyster beds in and around the # 17 buoy out of St. Marks. But FWC had difference plans for me. I assume that they were doing some type of training. Saw six marked boats plus their airboat that was hauling hind end all over the channel. Went out to the east flats, came upon a lot of bait fish by the stake line tan killed the motor and drifted . Caught 5 specks in 12 casts. All were 14.99999 inches. Made one more cast before I lost daylight and hooked up with a 26 in Spanish...water was glassy no winds used gold spoon. I will get after 'em again on Sunday...till then, tight lines.

To fish, or not to fish, . . . those are the answers.

Well, at least you got to get out and had some luck. I hope you have better luck Sunday. It looks like the weather should be nice.
