St. Marks, river, power plant

Post by FishingPadre »

Hit up the power plant today (thanks for the directions), got on the water around 1:30pm, rising tide, shrimp on bottom. Tons of baby mangroves, bagged one keeper. 4 baby reds. Lost one trout at the boat, and bagged one. Lot of fun, wish they were bigger. Tight lines!

Fun place to fish and a great place to get out of the rough water
This cold should push them up the rivers!!

Is there a way to walk to that part of the river, or is it only accessible from a boat? I like to throw a line in when work is slow.

You can get to the power plant by boat. You can get to the confluence of the St.Marks and Wakulla by foot at the St. Marks Fort/St. Marks Boat Ramp.
