Nice DOLPHIN Jennifer. Pops got so excited about his post that he incorrectly identified the fish. Dolphin are found in temperate and subtropical waters around the world. In most places it's dolphin, in Mexico and Latin America they're called dorado and only the crazy Hawaiians and seafood marketers call them mahi.
Great catch and good eats regardless of the moniker. Was she fishing off the North Drop?
I already sent a message asking if it was N. or South Drop. Haven't heard back yet.
Back at the dock it measured 53 inches and weighed 40 pounds. She won the local tournament today with it.
That fish would have taken some serious money in most of the offshore tournaments in the Gulf.
Your spot down there is definitely fishy. Great blue marlin bite, too, especially on the full moons from July through September. Have had some good times in Red Hook.
